Faith Gentry, a freshman at South Mountain High, won the Division 2 girls javelin throw title with a lifetime-best 134-1 (40.87m) at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state championship meet at Deer Valley High in Glendale. Gentry remained the No. 2 freshman competitor in the country this season, improving on her previous-best performance of 133-6 (40.69m) from April 15 at Alhambra High.
