Mason Hickel, a senior at Desert Vista High, won the Division 1 boys shot put with a second-round effort of 61 feet (18.59m) at the AIA Outdoor State Championships at Desert Vista in Phoenix. Hickel also finished second in the discus throw with a 174-3 (53.11m) performance.
