Quinton Patterson, a junior at Desert Mountain High, won the Division 2 boys long jump title with a wind-aided effort of 23-5 (7.13m) at the AIA Outdoor State Championships at Perry High in Gilbert. Patterson also placed second in the triple jump with a 44-9.25 (13.64m) performance, in addition to finishing third in the 400 in 48.92, contributing 24 points to Desert Mountain's runner-up team total of 45.
