Makayla Hunter, a senior at Chandler High and an Indiana signee, won the Division 1 girls javelin title with a lifetime-best throw of 151-6 (46.17m) at the AIA Outdoor State Championships. Hunter also took second in the discus throw with a personal-best 153-4 (46.73m) in the third round, in addition to a runner-up finish in the shot put with a mark of 42-9 (13.03m). Hunter equaled the state-leading javelin mark of Jade Kwinn of Sabino, along with matching the No. 2 competitor in state history, as well as No. 7 in the country this season.
